Bayasse belongs to the commune Uvernet-Fours . It is a small village surrounded by scattered hamlets at about 1800m altitude.
Even though many of the hamlets are now abandoned, they still remain as the reminder of a long and real history. Each inhabitant of Bayasse will show you in his own way a little bit of the local life and will help you to understand the destiny of the men and women of the Vallon de Fours.
One reaches Bayasse by following the road of the Grandes Alpes, after crossing the Bachelard canyon and its cliffs, its mélézins forest, its cascades and its numerous picturesque bridges.
